On Wednesday evenings I teach a Hatha Yoga class. Hatha Yoga is a branch of Yoga that involves breath, body, and mind. We start with some mindful awareness, breathing exercises and intention setting. We begin our physical work with some gentle movements, building heat through Sun Salutations, take a little time to explore some peak postures and get inquisitive about what our bodies can do. We then slow it down again to end, finishing with some more mindfulness, breathwork and gratitudes.
My intention is to share my love of Yoga and the benefits it has brought to my life. It’s important to me that we have fun with movement, and can laugh and joke while we explore different postures. I want people to not get caught up in how the posture looks but how it feels.
I have explored, and continue to explore, a wide variety of practices, from alignment focused Iyengar to fiery Ashtanga. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India in the foothills of the Himalayas.
