Hi, I’m Louise. I’m originally from the North of England and living happily in Cork with my husband and our two daughters since 2007. I have a passion for working with people with emotional eating and body image issues, as well as stress, anxiety and depression.
During my time in England I worked for 12 years as a Counsellor in various specialist Eating Disorders services across Merseyside. I also worked for several years as an in-house Counsellor in GP surgeries working with clients suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues.
I recently completed a BSc Degree in Humanistic Integrative Counselling & Psycotherapy with the Cork Counselling Services Training Institute (CCSTI). I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psycotherapy (BACP) and receive regular supervision. I am available to offer individual counselling sessions in the Douglas village area as well as sessions online via Zoom.
I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2010 and have since been teaching group classes, as well as individual trauma-informed yoga therapy sessions from within the Douglas Yoga Centre.
I believe yoga is a very helpful tool for building a stronger and healthier connection between the mind and body, and in this way it is a wonderful companion to talking therapy. I believe that both yoga and counselling, or a combination of both, can help many people with food, weight and/or body image issues to increase their levels of body satisfaction and gradually reduce some of the symptoms they experience. Yoga also offers us many tools that can bring much needed relief to those struggling with stress and/or anxiety.
In 2018 I became a Certified Eating Freely Therapist.

I am thrilled to be part of the team and looking forward to bringing this program to more clients in Cork who are struggling with emotional eating, binge eating or bulimia.
